8kun is now up, but it's beyond slow, messy and there's ugly disclaimers in every post.
No idea if the site will ever actually work or just fizzle out, though Jim does seem to have a lot of cash to throw at the project to annoy people.
If it's still run by that bipolar, MCU-fanboy of an idiot who hands out bans like candy over random rules he makes up (which he is if they restored the board at this stage), I won't be going back anyways.

Personally I enjoy the federated imageboards we have currently, the only issues are having multiple boards of the same topic to diverge users, as well as the obvious lack of users and people eventually dropping off, especially on this board.

Some things I'm thinking about are:

1: An idea that I started on /tv/ a few months ago, in which we do weekly/fortnightly comic/movie/tv show reviews as a board. (I don't do them now, Gahoole took over for me after the set up). These noticeably improved both PPH and on-topic posts instead of the usual ranting about new things.

2: Talking to webcomic writers and getting them to do AMAs or "masterclasses" (for lack of a better work). It'd be really nice if we could get bigger names like /v/ has done with proper devs, but let's stick to something in the realm of possibility at the moment.

3: Advertising; this is the one that I'll lose people on. Yes, the board has traditionally always just been drifters from /b/, /v/, /pol/ etc for the better part of 15 years. That worked back then, but since the exodus, we've been losing people ever since, and even 4/co/ died a fair bit, so that's probably just a shift in the industry as a whole. For advertising, I'm thinking word of mouth on forums (Not Reddit/Facebook/Twitter et al, I mean actual forums that somehow always stick around, like Kametsu, ToonZone etc). Obviously if people aren't keen I won't do anything, and I'd also stop if it led to degradation of the board i.e. circlejerking trash all day.

Questions to all:

I'm for staying on the webring honestly, I don't like anything about Jim and the only reason I'm even considering occasionally using 8kun when it comes up is purely to help piss off the dud until he finally fucking dies.
However, if we're going the 8kun route we could just establish a /co/ alternative to use since the sperg faggot who took hold of the old board clearly stuck around.
The early days would be the perfect time to do so since the userbases for each board have been scattered and would need time to regroup, if we made an alt for the sperg's board and made it known that the BO isn't an autistic control freak then we could effectively replace kun/co/ before its legacy status nets enough anons to make using a a new board to combat his faggotry impossible.
TBH, I'd rather the bulk of 8co's posters just migrate here than go to some Qanon/MAGA site.
>Now hear me out: Is there a better way to advertise our board and interest than making something poeple can enjoy?
As long as /co/ is on julay it'll be associated with /cow/'s cancer, so most of the old users will stay away.
>Qanon/MAGA site.
Anon you do know the Q boards were there for the last two to three years. After 8ch went down and the containment board was breached, is when people realized how much cancer it was holding inside.

You would just need to put them back in their little quarantine board like the last time.
Hey guys, I know /co/ used to have toy-related buyfag threads so I thought I'd put it out there that /toy/ is back in business. https://prolikewoah.com/toy/

-Vaguely on-topic.
-That's it.

I'll be making some posts on other bunkers, but if you know of any other lost anons on other boards/sites, let them know this place exists as an alternative/supplement.

I'm not the kind of anon who bans people for wrongthink like the last couple guys /co/ has had, so feel free to post anything /co/ related.

Got an email at TheCoBo@protonmail.com also.

One thing I've been doing with various Western series that got terrible dubs in my country (or didn't get here at all) is to try and watch them up until they're objectively considered good, plus at best just the following bad series.
A couple of series I've been meaning to get around to are King of the Hill and Spongebob. From what I've seen, there's quite the number of seasons, but where exactly do they stop being interesting/worth watching?
Also, do you have other series that had a similar issue, where the good episodes stopped coming after a certain series?
I would suggest watching King of the Hill all the way through because the quality never really fell off and the last episode wraps up a lot of things. Spongebob was always bad but the quality of the show really changes from the movie on.
Really? I've been told Spongebob was memorable (whatever they meant by that) up until a few seasons in when they just made it stupider and gross.
Thanks for the tip anyhow.
Not >>380, but I agree on Spongebob. It's just a randumb comedy that is not anything special. Only people I see it appeal to are native English speakers for some reason. In my country Spongebob is a hot potato that TV stations get rid off after emitting two seasons at most and then replace it with Anime, European, old Cartoon Network, WB, or Fox animated series.
Most people who like Spongebob insist that first seasons are good and that show drops in quality after the first animated Film.

King of the Hill is good, nearly all episodes are at least decent, and there are no weak seasons. It's not like Simpsons where it just goes to shit at certain point.
randumb can be funny if it's memorable, but I see your point
speaking of the Simpsons, my country had a terrible dub that removed all of the wit in the writing and a lot of the references, which made me kind of hate the show, but even now after watching it raw it's more miss than a hit, except for some skits that I gotta imagine had the entire writing team in a laughing fit for hours, like that one episode where Homer is inexplicably a member of a barber shop quartet and Chief Wiggum gets replaced by Barney, the part where he gets angry at the television gets me every time

Spongebob was an acceptable cartoon to watch with your children. That's enough.

Infinity Cup Anonymous 11/10/2019 (Sun) 02:41:48 No. 357 [Reply]

As that one anon that's been working on the Infinity Cup for all this time, I feel like the boards that were set to participate deserve a bit better than radio silence. For those that aren't caught up or need a quick rundown:
>The Infinity Cup is a virtual soccer(football[divegrass]) tournament, with its roots dating back to the earliest days of 8chan
>It takes place in Pro Evolution Soccer (PES), a virtual soccer franchise from Konami
>I took on the responsibility of organizing the 5th iteration of the Cup back at the beginning of this year
>Over months, I learned how to mod PES to put in each board's respective team and run simulated games between them
>Using pre-existing guides (many not in English) I also learned how to mod the game from an aesthetic and quality of life standpoint, including crowds, referees, stadiums, balls, and even rudimentary player models
>24 boards agreed to participate, and the Cup was scheduled to begin August 9th
>On August 4th/5th, we received word that 8chan was losing its host, the site went down relatively shortly after
>With no site and no functioning central hub, the Cup was postponed.
>I disappear for about a month
>I return in October
>We still don't have a site, but we do have a webring.
>You are here.
The whole point of this is to see if anyone still cares at this point. There was hype for the Cup. Yes, some boards cared much more than others but there 24 willing boards and we had the resources to run the Cup. I put in probably far more work on my own than any sane person should have, so I don't want this all to go to waste. That being said though, if we set a date, gather the required parties, and begin streaming the Cup and 6 people show up, I'd rather just not do it at all. I'm going around posting this on every participant board that's here on the webring and I'll try to get this up on 8kun somehow. In the meantime just post in here so I can get a sense of interest from you.

What went wrong with the show?
1 post omitted.
I don't know what went wrong but it happened in season three
>Going all dindu nuffin with the monsters despite their mustache-twirling supervillain behavior (especially from Toffee) complete with making them some hodpgepodge of Amerindians to Mewni's White Man and the Muslims/Heretics to Mewni's Crusaders
>Having a shoddily thought-out setting that tries to be both a Dark Ages pit and a Medieval Fantasy world with enchanted smartphones combined with a tone that tries to be a parody of magical girl animu, DnD style fantasy, and Euro fairy tales while also some totally serious exploration of them with prog politics
>Going through the trouble to make a databook only for the last season to ignore it (namely when it comes to the MHC's characterization besides token Hekapoo and the lack of Septarsis besides a cameo from Toffee)
>Underused or abandoned plot points like Marco's tentacle arm
>Trying to give the illusion that it's a setting with consequences yet at the same time tries to be super wacky (see how they handled Marco growing into a man only to become a boy again)
>Cheaply finishing Marco's romantic loose ends in Jarco and Markapoo (complete with Jackie acting like no attractive woman ever would with her "im nut woth eet staa izz").
>Eclipsa becoming worse and worse with each reveal from her scene with Little Moon onward (largely from how she's never shown acting as selfish as she claims to be) combined with how both her and Globgar were dindu nuffins (despite what we're shown in the tapestry
>the Trump Derangement Syndrome in Season 4
Am I missing one?
Here we see Daron having to use reddit to answer the loose ends or abandoned plot points (like what happened to Seth of Septarsis).

Magic Book of Spells
it was always shit
i alwayssaw it as a parody on Magical girl shows that stopped halfway inand tried to get "serious"
Still miss when europeans were making their magical girl stuff.

It was alright. Very rough in some places, like the fucking autotune on the second song. I could see this either becoming complete shit once picked up, or finally being some decent to watch western animation before the staff runs it into the ground.
Apparently, they have not even planned out what to do after this. I was already getting very lite tumblr vibes from the pilot alone. That being said, I would totally give it a few more episodes if/when they come out.
It took about two years to make this one episode. What are they gonna do, rely on Patreon donations while maybe releasing one more each year?
at first glance I had dismissed it as calarts trying to imitate more ambitious, non-potato designs
I was delighted to see it had the passion and energy of late 90s-early 2000s Cartoon Network stuff
(743.11 KB 886x1000 ClipboardImage.png)
yeah it's been a subject of note for a while now
I agree with a cursing, although its Hell so I would expect it, still it seems a bit lazy. Love most of the character designs, not perfect but the majority are pretty good. The only one I dislike is the Mexican demon, who out of all of them gives the most tumblr OC vibe, at least for me.

You thought you could escape your dose of bland slice-of-life? You thought WRONG.
QC will never die. No matter how much you may want it to.

It's incredible that despite missing several weeks of updates, it still doesn't feel like anything's happened.

That makes sense. I've seen people use normal glasses as protective eyewear, but they usually have shields mounted to the side. Plus, that's normally for people who normally use glasses in the first place. Of course, we can't expect our favorite dogfucker to pay attention to that level of detail.
Also just noticed that Sam having an idea is represented by a buttplug with an ion engine.
I think he was trying to draw an LED lightbulb to be conscious of the times, but failed because of obvious reasons.

Nobody told me this place existed until today. Is this the new 8chan? I was told to wait for something called 8kun to become available. I'm so confused...

Anyway, I'm here now, if you had something to say to me or a question or something. Also, here's a little OC from October.

Long story short is that 8ch got taken down and is being re-upped as 8kun, which is basically the same shit with a slightly different name for whatever reason. Good to see you made it here, since 8kun probably won't be stable for a few more days.
You forgot to mention that Jim cut some kind of deal with the US government to avoid being personally scapegoated for the El Paso shooting and is now actively pandering to a boomer cult that worships Donald Trump as a God.
So yes, this is the new 8chan, enjoy your stay.
>some kind of deal with the US government to avoid being personally scapegoated
He didn't do shit besides telling the feds what they want to hear, and the move to 8kun is no different than what he did for 2ch/5ch. The only difference is that there's a soy goblin literally making deals with huffpo, Vice and Jared Holt to keep 8kun down, while paying for literal ddos attacks and his retarded cult of furry trannies doing damage control for him from reddit to foxdick farms; like that l33t faggot on twitter.

what're you reading Anonymous 11/06/2019 (Wed) 20:02:31 No. 344 [Reply]
I'm just curious as to what everyone's been getting into lately.

I've been meaning to read scud for years and finally did so. Didn't know Dan Harmon was involved in it. I liked the zaniness of the original run but the ending that was a decade or more delayed was sloppy and half-assed imo.

Currently I'm reading the original Bloodshot. It's a fun read for sure. The only issue is all the other tie-ins it has and the story will drop off in the issue I'm reading and it must have been finished in another series, or it'll pick up in the middle of something. The good thing about it is you don't need to know too much about what's going on.

I've been keepin up with these various new X-Men. The House of X / Powers of X was interesting and could be pretty cool as a standalone but since that is where everything new is now diverging from it's pretty weird. None of the other series #1s so far have piqued my interest.
dont touch much comics as of late, but couple of weeks ago i was checking "The Ice-cream man" it was...interesting
Been reading Heavy Metal, current Heavy Metal, it shouldn't surprise me that the better stories are made by Europeans while the American authors mostly suck.
(262.69 KB 1080x1007 CountCRowely_MMH_1.jpg)
I mainly focused on drawing, and haven't read anything in past few weeks. Before that I finally caught up on Empowered and it is better than it has any right to be. To think that a handful of bondage and suit damage cheesecake commissions spawned a cheesecake gag comic that turned out to be one of the best superhero stories in comics.

As far as recent reading goes, I tried Count Crowley out of curiosity. Creator was promoting it in my city, and he even got on multiple news stations and visited multiple comic book stores. It was rough around the edges and a bit disjointed, but not bad. Dark Horse should have made him revise the script one or two more times before publishing it.

>Didn't know Dan Harmon was involved in it.
Harmon was not bad while he was still a desperate Wisconsinite trying to make it. Living in LA too long turned him and many others into a self important, moralizing douche.

I've been reading a bunch of obscure/nonstandard comics recently, and that includes revisiting some old webcomics I read when I was a teenager. One of these was The Webyssy - sort of a series of visual puns based on the internet landscape around the time of its creation c.2010. A literal webcomic.

I think it's an interesting time capsule, so I'll be storytiming it as best I can; sadly it only reached 16 pages, and I'm missing three of them due to archive.org not having saved the images properly.

Anyway, what are some webcomics you anons are reading or have read? Any that hold up to reread? Any guilty pleasures from the early days of webcomics when everyone and his dog had a ComicGenesis account?

It still kind of astounds me there was a time when the internet was made of more than a handful of corporate websites and web services. I can't remember the last time any web forums were relevant, or when people thought lolcats were funny.

And here are the missing pages, sadly. I can't seem to find 11, 13, or 15 on any web archive service and the website that hosted them is long dead.

I have a distant memory of the troll going "lel faggot u mad" repeatedly, but that was apparently page 13 because it isn't here.
