/co/ Bunker Anonymous 08/19/2019 (Mon) 11:03:04 No.1 [Reply] [Last]
Rules: -Vaguely on-topic. -That's it. I'll be making some posts on other bunkers, but if you know of any other lost anons on other boards/sites, let them know this place exists as an alternative/supplement. I'm not the kind of anon who bans people for wrongthink like the last couple guys /co/ has had, so feel free to post anything /co/ related. Got an email at TheCoBo@protonmail.com also.
Edited last time by CoBo on 04/12/2020 (Sun) 10:29:30.
Are you still here? What do you plan to do after Julay rebirth?
On the topic of /co/ bunkers, the original /co/ backup board on plus4chan is still up. https://boards.plus4chan.org/co/

What went wrong with the show?

Everything went to hell when Glossaryck's VA got #MeTooed.
>>351 It was bad from the start, but people were convinced that it would get better or properly build on the story and characters they established, instead of just falling apart after getting more seasons than they knew what to do with.
>>351 It was made by soy faggots
>>351 It stopped baiting the cuckqueaners and settled for the most vanilla ship.

Webcomics Anonymous 11/03/2019 (Sun) 19:07:03 No.328 [Reply] [Last]
I've been reading a bunch of obscure/nonstandard comics recently, and that includes revisiting some old webcomics I read when I was a teenager. One of these was The Webyssy - sort of a series of visual puns based on the internet landscape around the time of its creation c.2010. A literal webcomic.

I think it's an interesting time capsule, so I'll be storytiming it as best I can; sadly it only reached 16 pages, and I'm missing three of them due to archive.org not having saved the images properly.

Anyway, what are some webcomics you anons are reading or have read? Any that hold up to reread? Any guilty pleasures from the early days of webcomics when everyone and his dog had a ComicGenesis account?

>>576 >Page 150 This has been pretty decent so far, the writing and panels are a bit hard to follow at times and the art style is not for everyone, but the world building has be really good so far and zero pozz to boot.
>>577 Catched up already. I'd recommend it, the world building is really good, i desperately want to learn more about it for example how more densely populated areas of the world ended up, or if there are other holdouts, the world did capture my imagination, there are good character dynamics and pretty much no pozz, well, some designs are rather androgynous, but that's it really. I can complain about some character motivations, the typical thing where there's no good reason for some characters to stick together but they still do just cause that's the gang, i also wish it had a darker tone in general, the apocalypse in the setting is some truly horrific shit, yet the gang doesn't seem to take it seriously enough, even when they've almost died several times. It's one thing to not take seriously a threat with no weight behind it, but the threat here does. It's worth the couple of afternoons it takes to catch up to it.

Goodbye Star Wars. Anonymous 05/04/2020 (Mon) 01:58:15 No.591 [Reply] [Last]
It is the end of an era, the final bastion of pre-disney wars comes to an end today, and on may 4th of all days, which is appropriate i suppose. Say what you want about the Clone Wars but it was the final remnant of the old Star Wars, the bridge between the old and new, and with it's conclusion comes the conclusion of the old good ways. It was a little disappointing to be honest. The ending gave off this vibe of hopelessness and sorrow and like something good has come to an end. Which is fitting because it is true, both in their universe and in real life, so that's it, that is the end of the old Star Wars. It's gone now forever… I don't mean to sound like a dramatic soyboy faggot over a fictional universe, but yeah that is the end of pre-disney Star Wars. whether you were one of the first to see it in the theaters those 42 years ago or you grew up with the prequels It has been a wild ride and an honour anons. I know i am going to sound like a fucking cringelord for what i am about to say but i thought it would be the only proper way to sign off and say goodbye to a franchise that filled our childhoods with joy. May the force be with you, always. So where is the official /co/ bunker, now that the new BO on 8/co/on has proven to be a LARPing avatarfag bent on running shit like some commie police state? Guy came straight out of SomethingAwful with his moderation tactics.
>>543 >ban for "autism" Yet again, the issue here is a moderator not willing to put effort into the correcting-behavior aspect of moderation. But ignoring that, Frank doesn't seem that bad, especially compared to Yani honestly don't remember how to spell his name. Issue with Yani being poorer judgement and lack of communication. "Free-speech" isn't an inherently good thing, especially if it means low-quality shitposts can go unhampered. I have only ever seen morons disagree with this sentiment. Judging from the meta threads, I'm absolutely right about that. In any case, I haven't touched 8kun both out of contempt for what 8chan had become in the past few years and because a slight paranoia, so this doesn't matter to me at all. Anyway, I would assume that this board right here is the bunker, but please go away if you unironically think—to name an example from the meta thread (https://archive.is/BlLTp)—"Why is Chowder so redpilled" is a worthy OP. 4chan was partly hated due to the average retarded faggot there, not just because the moderators were replaced with SJWs like Redwood.
Apparently there's another successor to 8chan called 8chan.moe. It has it's own /co/ and Frank seems to have jumped ship to this new imageboard. https://8kun.top/co/res/1074189.html
>>573 For now both places are active, so he is the mod of 2 dead sites instead of one.
Given the recent news of julay restarting will this board remain or is it moving somewhere else?

So, anybody who stills pays attention the franchise here? See any good rewrites for Korra?
25 posts and 7 images omitted.
>>574 That reminds me of this old story idea an anon from 8chan had for a sequel to LOK. The next avatar is an earth bender and is rich. He has to deal with Korra's spirit nagging him all the time and he has a lightning bender friend to help him out in a world that has gone to shit.
>>574 Sure. The trick is to torch the setting and start over. Delete all the excess technology and Westernized elements like elections (with Raiko being a Trump stand-in beaten by Zhu Li as Hillary Clinton). Let the mass destruction have enough spiritual damage to undo Korra and Unalaq's antics (the portals are forever barred and spirits have to come into Man's World the proper way, Korra is obliterated beyond return and will never be shown again).
>>578 How is Raiko a Trump stand in? If anything he was one of the few sensible characters in Republic City. Everytime Korra wanted to go get Republic City involved in some war he said no. And the show kept making him look bad for it. I agree with you about the technology though. It makes no sense how they got radio. The blimps and cars I could see that as an extension from Fire Nation military equipment being repurposed for peace time but there was no sign of radio ever being developed in that world.
>>581 >How is Raiko a Trump stand in? >He didn't read any of the comics Read the Korra comic. Raiko gets in an election against Zhu Li (which happened well after Trump annouced his candidacy). Their talking points on the portal/spirits are obviously meant to be a stand-in for immigration. And Raiko loses. >I agree with you about the technology though. It makes no sense how they got radio. The blimps and cars I could see that as an extension from Fire Nation military equipment being repurposed for peace time but there was no sign of radio ever being developed in that world. They made the Avatar World into the The West circa WW2.
>>584 I see now. That sounds stupid still.

One thing I've been doing with various Western series that got terrible dubs in my country (or didn't get here at all) is to try and watch them up until they're objectively considered good, plus at best just the following bad series.
A couple of series I've been meaning to get around to are King of the Hill and Spongebob. From what I've seen, there's quite the number of seasons, but where exactly do they stop being interesting/worth watching?
Also, do you have other series that had a similar issue, where the good episodes stopped coming after a certain series?
2 posts omitted.
>>382
Not >>380, but I agree on Spongebob. It's just a randumb comedy that is not anything special. Only people I see it appeal to are native English speakers for some reason. In my country Spongebob is a hot potato that TV stations get rid off after emitting two seasons at most and then replace it with Anime, European, old Cartoon Network, WB, or Fox animated series.
Most people who like Spongebob insist that first seasons are good and that show drops in quality after the first animated Film.

King of the Hill is good, nearly all episodes are at least decent, and there are no weak seasons. It's not like Simpsons where it just goes to shit at certain point.
>>383
randumb can be funny if it's memorable, but I see your point
speaking of the Simpsons, my country had a terrible dub that removed all of the wit in the writing and a lot of the references, which made me kind of hate the show, but even now after watching it raw it's more miss than a hit, except for some skits that I gotta imagine had the entire writing team in a laughing fit for hours, like that one episode where Homer is inexplicably a member of a barber shop quartet and Chief Wiggum gets replaced by Barney, the part where he gets angry at the television gets me every time
>>380
>>383
edgy.

>>384
Spongebob was an acceptable cartoon to watch with your children. That's enough.
>>383 >Only people I see it appeal to are native English speakers for some reason. I think that's partially due to nostalgia.
>>380 No, early Spongebob was classic.
