/pol/'s favorite video game Anonymous 10/26/2019 (Sat) 19:48:14 ID: 859ec1 No.2659 [Reply] [Last]
I'm sure that /pol/ would love to play as neocon Gewt Ningrich to shoot down some liberal hippies to live out their far-right fantasies.

/pol/ doesn't play videogames because they're not virgin menchildren, at least 8/pol/, 4/pol/ is pretty much all children and Q boomers

/pol/'s favorite video game is actually the voting poll.
They think voting actually makes a difference, and going with a popular vote makes a lick of difference.
1776 will never happen again. Abraham Lincoln made sure of that forever.

Are you ready to learn about ethno nationalism?

>radicalized
Ethno-nationalism is and was the norm for most nations of the world since nations were ever founded. Without caring for your people's identity, no nations would survive. Even those that had/have different ethic groups residing in them, still segregate them willingly. Believing in ethnic nationalism isn't being radicalized, its being deradicalized from widespread anti-"insert_country" propaganda.

The PSX was literally known for Crash Bandicoot right out the gates. It was one of the biggest titles on the system. The N64 is only known for 3D platforming because it has so few quality games that Mario 64 stands out among them. You can debate the quality of Rare games, most of them aren't very good and only hold up on nostalgia.

>>840
Comparing Spyro to Mario 64 is insulting to Mario 64. Spyro does very little with it's enviroments that come even close to a Mario 64 level.

>PSX has 2D stuff
Very little of it compared to 3D stuff.

>>876
You keep moving the goal posts for what you think counts as a 3D platformer. You seem to define it as only an open world (as was possible at the time) platformer. But that doesn't stop Crash being 3D.
>>878
Mario 64 at the time was amazing to look at. As a bong I remember going into Choices (Blockbuster) and playing Mario 64 for the first time. It felt like a huge shift in gamin was taking place. Mario had so many movement options and such a large area to explore. It's very hard to capture the differences in technology improvements while looking back at them. The speedrunning kids and nintoddlers circle jerk the game way too hard now, the same way FF7 was circle jerked in the past, but Mario 64 is still worthy of it's place in history.

Burger globalism fucks up internet history. And it's not helped that European e celebs who cover the history are often trannies or utter faggots like Jim Sterling. So much of our history is being washed away.

Licensed vidya Anonymous 08/25/2019 (Sun) 14:30:16 No.382 [Reply] [Last]
Licensed vidya has an unfairly negative reputation. At least until the 7th gen you'd have good odds it'd be average with a surprising number of gems in there. Hit and Run is probably only 7/10 since it gets a bit repetitive but it's at least fun. If you want to play it now make sure and check pcgamingwiki for the mods that help with widescreen and shit.

Never played Mickey Speedway, so I can't vouch for that, but I have played Mario Kart 64 and it really is a subpar kart game. It's got its charms and it's the only Kart game whose battle mode I can say to have thoroughly enjoyed, probably the best of its kind, also on a technical standpoint it's got a lot of cheating the devs had to put in to have a very high framerate compared to the rest, but that's pretty much where the praise ends and the complaints begin. Tracks are boring, the graphics aged like wine, the drifting doesn't feel satisfactory at all and it's so damn bouncy as a game. Only people who think it's a great title are wearing their Nostalgia Goggles with pride.

I am aware that Rick Hunter was Postal Dude's Voice Actor. I was referring to the most recent incarnation of Postal Dude. The most recent incarnation of Postal Dude is in Postal 4 No Regerts. There's actually a thread on /v/ right now where it's being discussed! >>2136

He's a busy guy. I heard it was the same kind of deal with Jim French, the guy who Voice acted Bill from Left 4 Dead. I do still hope he's able to reprise his roll as the Postal Dude, if possible.

Funnily enough, I think Corey was actually in radio business himself.

So how are the Crash and Spyro remakes compared with the originals? Anonymous 10/16/2019 (Wed) 23:35:23 ID: cddc7e No.2190 [Reply] [Last]
I digged both of those series back in the day. Are the games worth buying for nostalgia's sake, if nothing else?
They're garbage like all remakes, reboots, remasters and so on.
>>2200
Don't listen to this fag.
From what I've heard the Spyro remake is at least decent, but the Crash remake is retarded because it uses Crash 2's physics model for all three games, which makes the harder levels in Crash 1 almost unplayable.
>>2204
>remakes
>decent
Go back to cuckchan, all remakes are cancer.
I'm having fun with the Spyro games but I've never played the originals so I wouldn't know. Sorry OP.
>>2204
Crash remake using the wrong physics model does make the game unnecessarily hard and difficult to get through. There's a mod that fixes he shitty collision for the PC version, but not for console versions, obviously.

I'm trying to learn gbdev and this is what I accomplished this weekend. I am trying to do it in assembly, and at the end i realized I needed some method to keep state, specifically so I can do collision detection and event handling. The message box and font actually work (the sadly are only activated when I press the start button) and I am trying to write everything from scratch. I also need to figure out at some point how to load maps so my arrow sprite (who changes direction when the dpad is used) can go outside of his little cage.
>>154
I'd go one step up to gba dev, cause 32 bits is nice.
>>155
I'm already familiar with the assembly language that the GB uses. I wanted something simple and easy to develop for. GBA gives you a lot more bells and whistles to work with, but I'm just doing this for fun.
Impressive for a first projects. Have you been looking at the assembly from other games to learn the GB? The autism in the game hacking communities seems pretty strong.
>>163
I've peeked at the pokered source a little bit, but most of it has been reading documentation and different tutorials.
Cool. It's pretty autistic to be programming a vidya in assembly today OP. How's it coming along?

>you gotta enjoy obscure and convoluted menus that require a captcha otherwise you want it to be streamlined
>you want convenience?
>Too bad fgt, you gotta grind this mission 50 times so you can be 1 lvl underleveld for the mission that progresses the story
>Oh what's that? You want your maps to actually look like maps that tell you where you are so you can find where you need to go? What a pleb.
>Wait, you actually prefer a coherent story and lore instead of a convoluted, needlessly bloated and obscure story of a walking simulator where you swap out socks with +1% confines? Streamline alret!
Let me guess. You play Dwarf Fortess without a tileset just because a tile-set is convenient?

There's a fine line between deep and pointlessly complex. And most of the shit that comes from Japan, save for a few select titles, has crossed that line and has it's head so far up it's own ass that it chokes on it.
