Planetside 2: Colossus SOON™ Edition Anonymous 05/08/2020 (Fri) 01:34:28 No.37167 [Reply] [Last]
Figured that I'd make a thread here for this dead ass game, since 8Kun is slow as an AODR platoon leader and is about as reliable too. News: >Planetside 1's 17th anniversary is coming up on the 20th of May. >We're getting a new weapon and a tank, along with a base module system in the coming months More info here: https://www.planetside2.com/news/ps2-livestream-recap-april-20-2020 & https://twitter.com/planetside2/status/1255875023061032961 Friday Night Bastion Night Info/FAQ: >Bastion deployment time & date? 8th of May at 5PM EDT >What server? Emerald >What faction & outfit? NC & 3K Mafia (weww) Yeah, we're on TR too, but got bored of it and hopped over to NC. >Can I join? Yes, but don't be a massive faggot. Also, when you send your application, mention that you're from here. >Do I need to do anything else?

Emulation Thread Anonymous 03/18/2020 (Wed) 13:24:41 No.21232 [Reply] [Last]
Didn't realize this board didn't have one. 4cuck/vg/ wiki : https://emulation.gametechwiki.com/index.php/Main_Page Recently RPCS3 got a pretty game changing update which improved framerate across all games and PC configurations and Switch emulation is shaping up ok despite the jewish nature of Yuzu. Theres also drama within XQEMU(xbox original emulator) with one of the main contributors(the only one doing any noticeable work) forking the project to his own so that he doesn't have to argue over capitalization in code with the head autist of XQEMU.

>>33373 Anon from Anon's edits here, just updated my pastebin (It's been outdated for ~2 years.) It's the same posted on the OP. I made a new-ish submod (Recycling old assets from my old HIP mod.) for HIP Frosty2, it extends the map all the way to China, adding all of India and Tibet; only did it because I enjoy playing Tibet and Tarim for whatever reason. Of course the mod slows the game down a little bit, but who cares. I also ripped off Ancient Religions Reborn and Naval Combat from some other mod.
Play Victoria 2 and CK2 while HOI4,EUIV and stellaris are complete shit that require DLC or have been completely fucked over by updates making their games even more boring than before. Paradox should done what MEIOU and taxes done and turn EUIV into a nation building game rather than a blob pointless mechanic shitfest.
>>33862 Hey, thanks Anon. It's nice to get some stuff for HIP. By the way, have you heard of the Comprehensive Annals of Five Dynasties submod? The dude that does it used to work on HIP. He expanded a detailed map into Western China. It always seems to crash for me after 9 months, but if you wanna check it out if you haven't heard of it yet.
>>36745 I had no idea that mod existed, thanks, I'll look into it.

>>36884 Every non-abstract game is literally roleplaying game. Even in Chess you are playing the role of the commander, who might even be represented as the King piece depending on your interpretation.
>>30309 Ghost of a Tale. I played for a couple of hours and then dropped it because I dislike the way the stealth is. Basically it's like the early MG/MGS style of stealth where it's timing your movement to get in cover before the guard looks your way, with a few tacked on issues. See, guards have this vision meter that fills up if you're moving around in their field of view(even if they are asleep). It fills up slower if you hold the right mouse button and sneak around or if you are standing still. It empties out if you are standing still and holding the right mouse button, with a few exception. Plus the rats were incredibly easy to get away from because you could just sprint to a nearby hidey hole and they couldn't get you. Also it's a joke log but one of the collectible readables is an entry to literal furfag erotica starring a "wide chested" police captain or something and a criminal captive doe. It even ends with "Thankfully the rest of the book is unreadable" >>30282 >Stealth Platformers This reminds me, is Stealthy Bastard an actual stealth game or is it just a puzzle platformer?

Is the OSRS community more autistic than the old RS community? I stumbled on this video series of a guy who's playing a fresh account on a mode where you can't trade or use banks, but wants to get to a very high level and finish some supposed high level PvE content without leaving morytania and it's all sorts of backwards ass strategies like getting to like 20 hunter from random events and then 99 hunter from lizards just so he can put out a 1 billion GP bounty on lucky implings, all so he can get a rune crossbow.
>>6755 They just pander to their playerbase of retards and whales so the quality continually drops while the cost rises. Plus an MMO can't 'end' so they're continually churning out content or they're dead and since most modern devs are trash the follows that MMOs are just gonna get worse and worse.
>>7066 >'That's brave of you' >no other options Pretty typical shit when you've got trannies writing for you.
>>37289 Ironman mode is actually great. It forces you to detach yourself from the broken economy, make use of many parts of the game that are obsolete, and use items you otherwise would have never used. You can't just do the "easy money thing" of the month and then buy everything else, you can't just buy the best equipment, you have to actually do a large variety of things if you want a variety of items and work extra hard for items you've taken for granted (e.g. amulet of glory). Even something as "useless" as amulet of power is difficult to obtain. The main downside obviously is that it makes the game more single player, but it's not like people are very social in the game these days anyway. It's also extra grindy. Hardcore ironman is interesting in it's own way since you have to make strategies where you don't use the bank and don't risk dying, but it's ridiculously grindy.

RPG Maker games Anonymous 04/30/2020 (Thu) 10:14:20 No.32517 [Reply] [Last]
I've been getting into RPG Maker games recently, and I'm even considering trying the development part of it out soon for shits and giggles. The main RPG Maker games I've been playing a lot have been Lisa the Painful fangames. Ones I can recommend would be the obligatory Hopeful and Pointless, but then there's also Lisa the Bashful, Lisa the Vegaful, and Lisa the Pointless: Phone Crew. Later after I've slept, I'll talk more in depth about these probably. I played Space Funeral. It was weird but pretty enjoyable. Most issues I had with the game were technical due to its age and I thought it was WAY too easy, but otherwise it was fine. I probably would try OFF, but I've been spoiled too much in the past back when I didn't care and had no interest in turnbased RPGs so I don't think I'll play it any time soon. I don't think I'll play anything like Yume Nikki because I'm not a huge fan of walking sims. Also, once there is some fucking semblance of normalcy and stability, is Anon's Bizarre Adventure ever going to be worked on again? I hope the project isn't completely dead now. On another note, if you have any legitimately bad RPG Maker games to tell us about, please do. We could all use a laugh during these uncertain times.

>>34079 >The only benefit is that you're allowed to sell any games you make with a legal copy Perfect. By the way, what's the best version to use? I asked a similar question on Fatchan but I unfortunately didn't have the foresight to screencap the answers before the site died. I think they all said that VX Ace is the way to go since MV is a slow piece of shit that's essentially a web browser in a wrapper, but looking online it seems MV is more "flexible" and noob-friendly and I don't know anymore.
Open file (6.84 KB 560x407 shrug.png)
>>34108 I dunno, I've heard good things about MV and Lisa the Painful, one of the best RPG Maker games in my opinion, was made with VX Ace along with many of its fangames. I think really it comes down to personal preference. Some people prefer XP, some prefer VX or VX Ace, some prefer MV. I've never used any of them myself since I can't into game development, but I'm sure if you ask around on normalfag parts of the internet you might get a more conclusive answer.
>>34108 MV is a fancy UI around a subset of Google Chrome (some HTML and the entirety of the javascript engine). It is somewhat better architectured compared to VX Ace and it uses javascript instead of ruby. On the other hand, anything made before MV uses its own engine instead of Google's.
>>34108 I've been playing shitty RPG Maker hgames for over a decade. From my point of view 2000, 2003, and XP have their quirks, but they're still fine. VX Ace seems to be the peak of RPGM engines. MV feels more slow and gimmicky to me, and is the only one that I've actually seen frame drops in. From a development standpoint I have no idea how they all compare.
Chinese yume nikki fangames are actually kind of nice.
