Tested out DeadalusX64's native vita version, works fine even at 444mhz for Mario 64, Smash Bros, FZero and Mario Kart. Only other game I've tried is doom 64 which even at max clocks runs at 15fps.

Since Fatchan died and nobody's talking about the series here, I figured I'd do my part and make a thread to help /v/ not die. I'm replaying Radiant Dawn and I wish this game's Part 1 difficulty was the baseline for most of the other games. Hard mode is just the removal of mechanics and QoL options for reasons I don't fully understand. FE game, in my experience, don't do higher difficulties very well. I haven't played Awakening or any games made after it it yet, but I know things get downright stupid in some of them. So which game is the best, niggers? Come post it here so we can yell at each other about how each other's favorite games and waifus are shit. Romhacks are very welcome. Sacred Trilogy is the best.

Also, in the Japanese version, the Burger King taunts Ike about their final encounter in PoR, stating that the only reason Ike won is because he wasn't actually fighting the BK, but that his warp powder had malfunctioned and only sent his armor and "spirit" to Nados Castle. This is straight up changed for English, where the BK states that he just let Ike win so he could fight him later. Shit like this is all over the place in RD. For example, the infamous line of Micaiah's where she says Ike is "the father of Soren's children" is nowhere to be found in either Japanese script. There's a lot of "punching up" lines for us dumb westerners.

Surely they wouldn't have much of a case if people are just running locally compiled ROMs derived from reverse engineered source code instead of modified official ROMs.

Sketchful.io Time Tonight! That's right, tonight (in approximately 3 hours), I'll be hosting a Sketchful.io game >What is this shit? It's like pictionary but with a custom wordset. In this case, it's video games only. >Do I need to be a drawfag? No, you don't. Plenty of regulars on this game have shoddy drawing skills but they are still creative enough to have people guess what the word is. The game is less about drawing talent and more about 'can you draw the subject well' >How do I play? Just follow the link which I'll be posting whenever we have a game. Any browser works, but from what I've seen, Pale Moon has trouble. Consider using IE or a Chromium fork. >I just like to guess answers, not draw. Can I still play? You can, just hit the "AFK" button in the game and you won't be asked to draw. Without further ado, I'll post the link to the lobby in 3 hours hence. See you then.

What are some developers that have become "the company that makes X franchise", and what are some forgotten/underappreciated games by those developers? Bonus points if the game / franchise they are known for is actually worse than the rest of their output. I was thinking about Sonic Team, and how a lot of their early games are now forgotten gems (Ristar, Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg) or at least feel original and interesting. (Nights into Dreams, Chu-Chu Rocket). The other one that springs to mind is Game Freak, who are basically just the Pokemon guys, despite their other games (Drill Dozer, Harmoknight) actually being neat little games that were well received by critics and players alike. If you can't think of any or you just have something interesting to share then abandoned games / franchises from studios with a wide portfolio are also welcome.

Video game leaks Anonymous 05/02/2020 (Sat) 00:39:06 No.33672 [Reply] [Last]
I said I would make a thread and a short run down of events a while ago but I didn't out of sloth. The leaks are getting out of control as these files are popping up nearly daily now. Basically >Dude who goes by wack0 hacks into Nintendo's and Microsoft's internal servers >Makes out with an unknown shit ton of files >Sits on them for a bit and then gives the first spaceworld demo of pokemon gold and silver to his buddys on the pret discord server (pret is a group dedicated towards reverse engineering and decompiling games mainly focusing on pokemon ones) anonymously as a user named __ >They plan on decompiling and fully translating the rom before they publicly release it >Helix chamber is formed to document these games while secretly holding onto at least the spaceworld demo and the red and yellow source code and withholding and lying about how they got their info >Somewhere around this time __ tells everyone he plans on releasing everything he has when he think's it's safe >Also somewhere around this time __ gives a few, if not several, of his closer buddys an unknown amount of files possibly everything >Gay discord drama happens here >Due to said gay drama, somebody leaks the space world demo >Wack0/__ get's van'd. Only gets a house arrest and a relatively short computer ban due to blindingly crippling autism (I'm not kidding) >Later, ganix, one of wack0's friends, leaks early diamond and pearl front and back sprites semi anonymously on his website and somebody post's a link on cuck/vp/ >People on cuckchan figure out who he is and makes fun of him for not releasing more and for his alleged diaper fetish >Ganix goes on full lock down mode and "deletes everything" and makes a long forum post on glitch city detailing his side of the story so far >Several of the logs from the gay discord leaks from before start popping up around here on /vp/ on threads dedicated to these leaks >Ganix continues to post screen shots showing off what he got to a smaller circle of discord trannies showing that he not only probably didn't actually delete his goods, but that there is far more data than the people who had it were letting on >Time passes and a few minor leaks that I can't remember happen around this time

>>3245 Rocket Knight Adventures is hands down the best platformer on the Genesis. I really can't heap on enough praise to properly convey how great the game is. The controls have slight inertia to them, but you're in complete control of Sparkster the whole time with grade-A precision. The sword fires a sonic boom off, and you can use the invincible boost to damage enemies/bosses, but since that isn't very "knight-like" your strongest attack is just the sword itself. Because for every frame your attack animation hits an enemy hitbox, you do the damage of a single sonic boom. So the casual first run starts off with you using the boost and boom to attack, but later runs have you absolutely ripping through bosses that used to give you trouble, and took minutes to beat. It's fast, it's got just the right level of difficulty, it's a beefy campaign, but still short enough to beat in one sitting. The music is killer, the graphics are sick. Really there's not much even wrong with it. Hell, Sparkster didn't catch on as a sort of B-list mascot, that's still remembered to this day, if not endured, is because the first game is the best one by far. Like, it did well enough to warrant two sequels, and Konami botched the success RKA had by splitting a full team into two smaller ones, and tasking them with making two different okay games, instead of just having both teams work on making one really good game.

Games that you are playing Anonymous 04/17/2020 (Fri) 18:36:38 No.27555 [Reply] [Last]
Basically blogposting about games that you are playing, you have finished or have dropped for whatever reason but want to talk/rant about. The old thread hit its bumplimit way back and nobody bothered to make a new one so here it is. I want to talk about this piece of shit which pretty much killed the franchise. Chibi Robo Photo Finder is a glorified minigame collection centered around the camera gimmick of the 3ds. You take pictures of garbage and then collect them for a museum. To take pictures you need buy film and to buy film you need to play minigames to collect happy points. This could've worked as a good premise if not for the fact that there is no hub world in this game and that it runs worse than the DS titles. You have laptop where you select the shitty camera and take pictures with the 3ds camera. As expected it doesn't work half of the time and you're better off taking pictures of random garbage than what the game is asking you. To progress through the game you need to take pictures but taking pictures has no other rewards associated with it. To actually get cash/happiness points you need to play minigames(which are ok but just make you miss a real chibi robo game). This shit would probably be easier to play on an emulator as you could just feed it pictures that give you 100% ratings every time and trivialize the most horrendous part of the game. After this turd, Skip released Zip Lash which was further removed from the chibi robo formula and the franchise rests in piece.

Playing Trails in the Sky FC because I played the whole Ys series a year ago and thought I should play more Falcom games. I'm midway through the third chapter (Zeiss) and so far it's surprisingly dull. I expected that I wouldn't like the combat much because I'm not big on turn-based in general, but I wasn't expecting the story to be so bland. Very archetypical characters you've seen a million times before if you're at all familiar with anime or JRPGs, hidden villains and plot twists you can see coming a mile off, lots of "we'll have to tell HIM" and "we'll have to use THAT". The funniest thing is how it's pulled pic related trope no less than three times so far. In the prologue the gem you retreive for the mayor of Rolent, in chapter two the artefact in the mayor of Ruan's mansion, in chapter three the black orbment you leave with Professor Russell.

Finished Oh No! More Lemmings completely Havoc levels are a digital form of ball busting, requiring extremely precise execution on top of really bizarre solutions. The overall difficulty curve is pretty uneven with the first difficulty level being more challenging than the second and the second half of Havoc being a cliff compared to the first half.
