/ck/ misconceptions Anonymous 08/24/2019 (Sat) 16:33:13 No.3
Common /ck/ misconceptions. I'll start with two that bother me now I'm in America:
>Italians are obsessed with garlic
Partly true but authentic Italian food actually makes much more use of parsley.
>oregano is a standard Italian herb that goes in everything
Outside of Sicily and the far south of Italy it's almost entirely relegated to pizza and a few other select dishes. Particularly in the USA this misconception is because most Italian-Americans were from Sicily and also some influence from WW2.

>he doesn't want minced garlic charcoal on every fried food dish ever
Open file (177.87 KB 659x480 borsch.jpg)
>Borsch is a tomato soup
It's not. While tomato is added to the borsch, the color is defined by the beetroot and the main "tasting" ingredients are potatoes, cabbage and meat. A borsch made with petite beetroot could be almost entirely yellow/light orange. And of course there are beet-less borsch variants that aren't red at all, e.g. "white borsch".
>>7
If we're on soup and similar:
>goulash is a single specific dish
>goulash should be a thick cassarole and not more of a soup flour in stew is a crime
And fuck whatever that crazy burger thing they call goulash is.
>>9
Do burgers even eat soups? I don't mean like in a restaurant but irl.
>>10
They seem to be mostly seen as poor people food but that might be a regional thing.
>>9
Should also say that it's fine as a stew though the difference between soup and stew is a bit vague anyway.
>>10
>Do burgers even eat soups? I don't mean like in a restaurant but irl.
It's a staple food and pretty common in the region I live in. Run of thumb is when you have too much of something or things about to go bad you make a soup or stew with them. In the fall/winter huge stews are made pretty often in 100+ gallon batches and sold off in quarts for fund raising for churches/children sport teams/raising money for Christmas for poorfags/food drives and things of that nature. Masonic lodges, churches, biker clubs, and other local establishments/clubs hold them pretty often. A lot of times someone will just do it for fun and have a huge party where everyone gets drunk. They're usually called "beef stew" but all sorts of things get put in them: venison, squirrel, rabbit, pretty much anything tasty.

Most everyone that keeps a garden makes home made vegetable soup all of the time when the tomatoes start coming in. Taco soup is very popular too.
>>13
Wherever you live sounds great anon. Appalachia or deep South?
>>10
I frequently cook French onion soup at home.
>>13
So the plebest dregs on par with dog food.
Sad.
>>16
I'm jealous. Appalachia is easily the part of the USA I'd most like to move to.

>Chili should have beans
Is there a worse crime?
>Salads are a meal
They aren't, eat something filling.

>Britain has no good food
People who have never been to Britain or tasted British food meme about names like Faggots and Spotted dick yet have no clue how they taste while declaring it all sucks.

>Spicy food is better than non-spicy food
Covering good quality products in junk to mask the flavour isn't a better. Adding a little bit of herbs or spices to complement the flavours good but when all you taste is marinade you may as well have just thickened it up and drank it.
>>40
I've been told tomato has no place in it, now I'm being told bean has no place in it. So other than the beef what DOES go in chili?
>>42
Beans, onions, peppers, tomato, and you should experiment with other things. It's chili it's supposed to be a hodgepodge of things that make you regret having ate it the next morning.
>>43
You forgot beer.
>>7
>Borsch is a tomato soup
I've never ever heard that misconception (frenchfag here)
Usually when people know about borsch or goulash they know about the main ingredients.
>>53
It's such a wide misconception among burgers they even put it in their tv shows.
>>41
I went to england for 2 weeks work related and I lost 5 pounds. The food was god awful. Now I understand why everybody drinks so much over there. You need to get your calories from somewhere.

Did you go to (((London))) pr some other Southern shithole by some chance? There's still good food in bongland but you've got to go somewhere where the local culture hasn't been completely destroyed.
>>127
Is shwarma national british food by now?
>>129
In bongland Doner (turkroach) is much more common than Shawarma (sandnigger). They're more or less the same thing, as far as I can tell anyway, just with difference spices and serving methods and possibly Shawarma is marinated first and tends never to be made from minced meat but rather slices of meat stuck on the skewer it's also usually better, possibly just because Arabs are mildly less shitty as a people in comparison to Turks or because they're much less common. Obviously it's often made by pakis instead of turks anyway.

(((London))) tends to also have fried chicken. It's also the only part of the UK to have a serious African population so take from that what you will.
>>134
What about poo foods?
>>41
Y'all yanks created the toast sandwich.
Let that sink in.
British popular dishes are outdone by southern cooking. I'd even wager depression era cooking (Hot Water Pie, Slug Burgers, Garbage Plates, etc) beats British food by a mile.

/ita/ here, holy shit
You can't sum up Italian cuisine just as being something from a single region, each region, each subregion and even certain towns have their own culinary specialties, like with the Calabresi and their fetish for putting spicy pepper on everything, or E' Spullichini from certain inner areas of Campania.
The only good Italian cooking is the one that comes from hardened grannies anyhow. Don't listen to poser chefs.
>>134
Africans are spreading out of London now. Small towns have enough africans to have african super markets next to the polish and paki ones.
>>198
That applies to the UK as well but Burgers have no idea about regional differences since they only eat mcdonalds.

This reminds me. I grew Cherokee Purples this year for the first time and I really liked them. They're sweeter than the other vine varieties I've grown in the past. I got a lot of compliments from people I gave them away too. The only issue with them is those vines produced much less than the others I had. I don't know if this is just how the variety is or if it was due to over crowding. I did have several plants packed in together this year and only one Cherokee Purple but it was producing much less than everything else around it.

Cherry tomatoes are good for people that don't have the room to grow entire vines. I grew some last year that were very easy to manage, put out lots of fruits, came in much sooner than the vine varieties, and kept putting out fruit until late in the growing season. They would be ideal for growing indoors in a hydroponics set-up. You could keep them producing fruit forever in a set-up like that. If you're in the city there is no excuse for not growing your own if you have minimal space (like a closet).

If anyone is interested I could give some tips on gardening. I keep a very large garden every year because I have the room for it. The only tip I'll leave you with today is this one: If you plan to start a garden next spring you need to get out in the next month or so and turn your soil. When you're turning it throw in some manure and chopped up fish. Try to go at least 2-3 feet deep and mix everything well. Put some sand or garden on top of your turned soil. It'll be good to plant in next spring and very well fertilized (shouldn't have to touch it all year). Keep an eye on it the first week or so because animals might come in to dig up the fish. If you don't have fresh fish you can substitute blood meal and bone meal. If you don't have earthworms in the soil already buy some from a bait shop (make sure they aren't frozen) and just throw them in.

Are polish people bad for the UK? I've heard them be refered to several names like "toilet bowl cleaners". They're you're fellow whites and Europeans so why don't you two get along? It's perfectly understandable to have a negative feeling towards Africans and Pakis but why Poles?
>>231
I disagree with this statement. If you go up to New York City and look for food there, it's going to be vastly different from the food you'll find down in rural Mississippi. Amerifats are completely aware of this, at least from my perspective. Where in America do you live? Region I mean. I myself live on the west coast.

Poles are the welfare niggers if Europe. Poland itself takes huge amounts of EU Budget funding for endless 'development' projects while simultaneously major bong companies move food production to Poland because of cheaper labour, much worse quality standards and corrupt local officials. On top of that waves of poles show up in bongland to take the remaining jobs often at under minimum wage while flooding already stretched services, housing and healtcare. Also the usual issues of crime etc you'd expect with immigration from any poorer area.

And on at least one occasion the Polish government was actually using those EU budget redevelopment funds to help companies move production from the UK.

On a non-economic note Poles, at least the ones who leave Poland and move here, are all wildly pro-EU and pro-Government handout commonly also engaging in SJW politics Polish woman are knowing for race-mixing across Europe too but that's a different matter. Currently they can only vote in local government elections so the effect is somewhat contained but there have been plenty of pushes to allow 'EU Citizens' to vote in general elections too.

Finally there's the cultural issue: maybe if you're a burger one white is the same as another but for any nation with actual history the situation is different. Race alone does not override thousands of years of difference in every other major area (language, religion, politics etc).
>>234
I'm English not Amerimutt so you have replied to me twice as two different people. Your first reply shows the second ones ignorance. The UK is 3 countries, but we get called British no matter which of those we're in by Americans.

Polish people are slavs and mostly nigger tier slavs. Just because we're "white" doesn't mean we're the same. Even the Scottish and English are different from each other and have different racial traits. Why would someone a continent away be seen as normal and the same as us? Europe has distinct nations with distinct ethnic make ups and personalities to them. If you put a pure blooded German in France or England he would stand out just as much as a black skinned man would. We're not interchangable and it's annoying when globalist Americans think we are. "White" is a lack of national identity, to those with national identities it's an insult to us.

>>237
Very good post.

Pols speak English worse than the brown people do these days. The only people who refuse to use English even more are the Chinese.
>>239
>>237
>>234
The American inability to distinguish between subtypes of white or even to conceive that there might be a difference is a product of their mutt status. Mutt not as in a mixture of colours but as in a mixture of 'anyone from Europe'.

Your disgusting kike ways are known and not working anymore. Every bit of white blood is gonna work together to send you to Madagascar.

Can you be a brainlet some where else please? European tribes have a history of conflict long before the Jews turned up. It's the conflict which lead to advancements in technology as fast as it did.

Lets get back on cooking topic.

>Soup is a meal
It's not, it's a drink.
>>241
I was aware that there were differences among the Europeans but I was not aware they had animosity towards each. Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks for clearing things up.
>>239
You pose a valid point. So from what I take away from this is that Europeans are white but they are distinctive from each other. A Scottish man that lives in Glasgow is going to much different from a Finnish woman that lives in Helsinki. Is this correct? Am I understanding things correctly?
>>243
I am the amerifat that made the >>234 post. Personally, I don't think that these guys are being Jews. Let me explain my point. They are just explaining why all whites are not the same. Maybe >>237 crossed a line by calling poles welfare niggers but I don't think his intention was to to bash all Slavs or Poles. For example, calling out those stupid fucking college liberals who hold up black lives matter at American campuses do not represent what white Americans are. I am certain nigger tier slavs exist but as >>237 said, he doesn't believe all poles are like this.
>On a non-economic note Poles, at least the ones who leave Poland and move here, are all wildly pro-EU and pro-Government handout commonly also engaging in SJW politics Polish woman are knowing for race-mixing across Europe too but that's a different matter. I understand your concern and paranoia of the kikes, but I think these guys are just informing me of their experiences. More importantly, none of them considered poles to be non-whites.

Glasgow is a bad example because it's an international city the same way London and New York is. All major cities look about the same because it fills up with foreigners.

The north and south of the UK are fierce rivals too. Northerners don't like Southerners and vice versa. I'm not quite sure why but that's the way it is.

>>245
International immigrant needs to be explained a bit to understand why pols are scum. The pols sent to Europe are not the high quality stock, they're the trouble makers, the criminals and the leeches. They can come to the UK and get child benefits for children living in Poland (I don't know how this works but it does). So instead of sending your brightest son who can run the family business you send your worst son who is constantly in trouble with the police and pissing everyone off. Once he's in Europe he sends most his money home to his family and is no longer getting in their hair. So it's a win/win for pols to send the scummiest there is.

And then we have European smuggling networks where pols, like Pakis are running human trafficking schemes and getting young girls addicted to drugs in order to prostitute them. Drugs, booze, prostitution, firearms, fags you name it they can and will smuggle it. Remember the UK has very high living costs and very high wages to match it. We inflate our numbers by say 25% across everything so when a pol comes here he can sell his cheap polish junk for much higher costs, he can work for far more than he can at home while undercutting us by living 6-10 people to a flat. Working around the clock they all share the same bedroom and when ones at work another sleeps. This lowered wages to where a man living with his parents will struggle to pay his way and increased housing costs because so many outsiders are willing to live in hovels that any free homes get hoover up by foreigners (often chinese) and then rented to these other foreigners while the natives want a family and a quality of life the polish have back home and will return to once they have collected enough savings.

>None of us consider pols to be non-whites
Most of us don't consider white to be a real thing. If we just judge people based on the paleness of their skin then most jews would fall into white (and often do in the USA). Europeans have a history of fighting together under different banners. Be it house banners or national banners. We're not opposed to working together. We're opposed to being erased into a beige sludge where everyone's history is lost. The majority of us have already lost huge amounts of our history and culture to the cultural revolutions and browning of Europe. When you ask us to forfeit our lineage you're asking a poor man to give up his last warm blanket. We're not opposed to uniting to fend off an outside foe, Europe has done it in the past many times.

Soup can be a meal if you want it to be. Chicken soup can be considered a meal if you put enough chicken, vegetables, noodles, in it and how rich the broth is. Of course, I don't disagree with the statement that soup can't be a drink. I just disagree with the statement that soup is only a drink. Give me an example of your favorite soup you consider to exclusively be a drink.
>>246

>crossed a line by calling poles welfare niggers but I don't think his intention was to to bash all Slavs or Poles.
That was me and to be fair it's usually the worst of a nation that emigrates purely for economic gain so it's not like I'm seeing the best of Poland here. Of the Eastern Euros who have stayed in their homelands most are just too naive: they really believe it when their politicians talk a lot of shit while keeping on that EU gravy train Hungary is a prime example of this.

>Glasgow is a bad example because it's an international city the same way London and New York is. All major cities look about the same because it fills up with foreigners.

>if I wanted to go to the UK, what would be the best tourist destination? Speaking from an Amerifat perspective.
It all depends on what you want to see and do. Edinburgh and London are pretty 'fake' and busy as shit from a tourism perspective, better to visit each for the few good attractions (Edinburgh Castle, HMS Belfast in London) as a day trip in from somewhere more interesting/cheaper.
>>256
Glasgow isn't as bad as Edinburgh sure but it's no where near good. They invade smaller towns with gay pride parades now. Any where connected to Glasgow by train and within an hour will have forced week long gay pride events hosted by them.
>>258
I didn't say it wasn't bad, just that its problems don't stem from it being an international city. They're 100% home grown well and irish.

Depends on the soup, but generally speaking, you are a dirty hook-nosed kike. If it contains a good balance of nutrients in respectable quantities, it's a meal. If it is too thin, or lacks too many nutrients to be suitable as a meal then it is a drink and a drink only.
